Anxious World of Intimacy, 2020
I am exploring emotional intimacy in connection ith feelings of anxiety emerging when I self-disclose and trust excessively in another person. The focus is on the psychological perspective of experiencing fear, risk and vulnerability in ntimate relationships and on my own interpretation of motions arising from the anxious world of ntimacy. Of utmost importance is finding a limit to which I could self-disclose, without losing yself in the process.
In the final work the anxious tension is represented by two diverging glass surfaces with which I identify. A fully stretched fabric is holding the glass panels together and preventing them from falling down and breaking - both in physical and spiritual sense.
The diploma artwork was exhibited in European Glass context 2021 (EGC2021) at the Bornholms Center for Kunsthåndværk in Denmark. It was also shown in a Slovenian annual exhibition Majski salon 2022 organized by The Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies in Maribor. It was also displayed in the National Museum of Slovenia as part of the conference Along the Glass Trail.
mixed media (cast glass and fabric), 20 x 28 x 15 cm
