Under Pressure, 2021

A short video depicts the feelings of distress and anxiety during the pandemic lockdown. I would like to run away, escape, and free myself from the repressive system we are trapped in.

A yellow balloon symbolizes an individual during a COVID-19 era, who is facing the unknown – curfew, deprivation of liberty and other restrictions that trigger anxiety, fear and anger. Constantly changing limitations, orders, prohibitions, unavoidable fake news not only make him feel cramped but also destroy his physical, mental, and emotional balance.

The artwork was one of 11 winning proposals of the #OPEN CALL for young artists, working in the field of video, film or moving image that we ULAY Foundation organized as part of the international exhibition Body ecstatic body eclectic body eccentric by (2021). The video was also granted an Award of the University of Ljubljana for one of the three winning proposals of an internal call Art interpretation of society (2022).
